Bane: That which holds you back; that which does not let go. Poison? Perhaps.
Bane is quite similar to burden. However, bane comes from within, whereas burden comes from without. Burdens are more easily cured. Bane’s are burdens hardly cured.
Once bane is recognised, it stands a chance of becoming a burden: a poisoning possible to be cured.
