Without needing to believe the news or not, I’m confident fake snow is used extensively in this S. Korean Winter Olympics. Whether we define fake as artificial powder allocation, or fake as reallocation of naturally occurring snow, the slalom and big-air runs and ramps require it. I assume they are exclusively using their resources to make the courses by artificial powder machines. This would increase purity, consistency, and efficiency over any re-allocating or purely natural precipitation.
